PegaWorld 2017: Modernization - Early Wins at the U.S. Department of Justice (Presentation)
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) is modernizing a 10-year-old system used by the 94 U.S. Attorneys’ offices, six litigating divisions, and the Debt Collection Management Staff to manage the collection of debts owed to the federal government. DOJ is using a hybrid form of the agile methodology which they created to adapt to geographic challenges and a diverse collection of end users with unique and sometimes conflicting requirements. This hybrid methodology is focused on maintaining rapid delivery without compromising good user collaboration. The resulting new user interface takes advantage of the features and functions built into Pega that help users know which actions to take now. It is also digitizing all of the paper documents associated with debt collection cases and aligning them with automated workflows, resulting in a reduction in human errors and substantial time savings.
