BNY Mellon: Streamlining Investigations with Transformational Technology

"An investigation entails a lot of components and links to multiple systems. We wanted to be able to handle the entire end-toend process through the system. Using Pega’s workflow capabilities, we knew we would be able to manage all the components and tailor the process to our exact needs."
--Mark Shivers, Vice President and Manager of the Transformation Team.

As BNY Mellon has grown as a global company, the need to modernize its funds transfer inquiry process became increasingly apparent. While Global Operations and Treasury Services Operations had successfully used a system developed in-house for many years, the largely paper-based process was not up to the task of supporting investigations operations worldwide.

The Global Operations project team considered multiple options for developing a new inquiry system, including pre-packaged applications and building another solution in-house. When they considered the maturity and flexibility of Pegasystems’ (Pega) technology, it was clear that the Pega capabilities would enable them to deliver a new system much more quickly than any other solution.
